Indigo Airlines is one of the largest low-cost airlines of India. All passengers must adhere to the baggage rules of the airline. The free baggage that all domestic travel passengers can check-in is 15 kilograms. The dimension of the checked baggage should not exceed 158 centimetres in all.
The passengers can carry one piece of cabin baggage and the total weight should not exceed 7 kilograms. The total dimension should not exceed 55cm x 35cm x 25cm length, width and height respectively.
In case the passengers want to check-in excess baggage, they can get nominal rates online. However, they have to pay for the baggage beforehand online. The passengers can check-in an extra of 5 kilograms at Rs. 500/- and 10 kilograms at Rs. 1500/-. If the passengers pay for the excess baggage at the counter, the charges will be Rs. 250 per kg of excess baggage.
Indigo’s motto is to provide on-time service. As such, the airline requests all the passengers to check-in to the airport at least two hours before the scheduled departure. The airport check-in closes 45 minutes prior to the scheduled departure and the boarding gate closes 30 minutes before the flight departure.
For the convenience of the passengers, the airline allows the option of web check-in. This facility is available to those passengers who have only hand baggage to carry. The online check-in is possible between 48 hours and 2 hours of the scheduled departure.
