Indigo Airlines is a low-cost air-carrier of India with its headquarters in Gurgaon. Being an airline that prides itself of arrival and departure of flights on time, it has certain check-in procedures by which the passengers should abide.
Airport check-in for domestic flight opens 2 hours prior to, and closes 45 minutes before, the scheduled departure. If the passengers have only hand baggage to carry with them, they have the option to check-in online. This facility is available between 48 hours and 2 hours of the scheduled departure. The boarding gate at the airport closes 30 minutes prior to the scheduled departure and all passengers must be present at the gate before that time.
For the passenger’s safety and convenience, the airline urges every traveller to carry a valid photo identity card along with the printout of their itinerary. Additionally, in case the airline authorities demand, the passengers will have to produce the original/photocopy of their credit card or debit card, used to pay for the online booking of the ticket.
Being a low-cost airline, it does not provide the passengers with extra frills. However, the passengers can buy food and beverages on-board the flight. These food items include selected vegetarian and non-vegetarian foods, healthy juices, lemonades and non-alcoholic beverages. All Indigo flights provide the passengers with complimentary drinking water.
If required, the passengers can carry their own food inside Indigo airlines flights. They can carry non-alcoholic drinks, snack bars/snacks and biscuits. The airline urges all passengers to avoid carrying oily, smelly and messy foods inside the aircraft.
